What is FamiLing?
FamiLing is a Peer Support programme for students of Linguistics and English Language courses at the University of Edinburgh. We run in-person on-campus sessions every Monday during teaching time, 4.10 – 5pm, primarily aimed at 1st years and revision of their topics. The FamiLing sessions will be hosted in the 7-8 Chambers Street building, room 1.03 (find us here: https://www.ed.ac.uk/maps/maps). There will be a sign! We will still be subject to current coronavirus guidance and restrictions at any time, but those are rare and will be clearly communicated if needed. In semester 1 we will also run sessions to help second years prepare for the LEL2B ear training test.
Make sure to check our events page to know when the next session is running! We run revision sessions for each topic covered in LEL1A and LEL1B, as well as Q&A sessions, where people studying any first or second year Linguistics and English Language courses can come and ask questions they have on the course content.
If there’s anything else you want to see from us in terms of peer support, we’d love to hear from you, so please email us at email@example.com! You can also use this email to ask us any question regarding the FamiLing sessions.
