What is FamiLing?
FamiLing is a Peer Support programme for Linguistics and English Language students at the University of Edinburgh. We run online sessions every Monday during teaching time, 4-6pm. You can access the FamiLing sessions by entering the Blackboard virtual session room on the Learn page "UG Linguistics & English Language Peer Assisted Learning (FamiLing)" (a mouthful, we know. Make sure to check our events page to know when the next session is running! We run revision sessions for each topic covered in LEL1A and LEL1B, as well as Q&A sessions, where people studying any first or second year Linguistics and English Language courses can come and ask questions they have on the course content. If you want to ask a question at our next session, please click the button below to submit your question to us beforehand. In semester 1 we will also be running sessions to help second years prepare for the LEL2B ear training test. If there’s anything else you want to see from us in terms of peer support, we’d love to hear from you, so please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
